DPRS = APRS + D-Star VA3YH
DPRS • D-star Position Reporting System • APRS = GPS - TNC - Radio • D-PRS = GPS - Dstar radio
DPRS • DV - 4800 bps • AMBE encoding = 2400 bps + FEC 1200 bps • 1200 bps for synchronization and multi use • ( Approx 900 bps is available for general use)
DPRS • Utilize the slow speed data channel to send GPS data to the Gateway. • ICOM radio converting GPS information to TNC2 fomatted APRS strings • Format • Icom introduced a new GPS mode called GPS-A mode which is shorter in format and includes a CRC.
DPRS Gateway • running javAPRSSrvr • report GPS info to aprs.fi • DPRS re-transmission in RF ( 2 M)
GPS setting in IC92 • URCALL to CQCQCQ, • RPT1 to the repeater call, • RPT2 to the gateway call (repeater call with "G" in the eighth position). • This will allow your data stream to reach the gateway but prevent it from going any further. • GPS data transmit when PTT is pushed.
DPRS C1 or GPS Message • This is the message that is sent when sending GPS. In most radios, it is the C1 message. It may also be called the GPS message. • Message with Checksum and Symbol • http://www.aprs-is.net/DPRSCalc.aspx • MV YING IC92AD*1F • MV = car symbol, 1F = checksum
DPRS • Radio without GPS build in.
