  2. Stratford-upon-Avon is located in the Midlands in the county of Warwickshire. All forms of travel are available: road, train, bus and there are nearby airports at Birmingham (35 miles), Manchester (60 miles) and London Heathrow (95 miles).

  4. Shakespeare's Birthplace

  5. Shakespeare's Birthplace is a carefully restored 16th century half-timbered house situated in Henley Street, where it is believed that William Shakespeare was born in 1564 and spent his childhood years. It is now a small museum open to the public and is a popular visitor attraction, owned and managed by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. It has been referred to as "a Mecca for all lovers of literature."

  6. Shakespeare's Birthplace has been welcoming visitors for over 250 years. William Shakespeare grew up here and he played here. He ate meals in the hall and he slept and dreamed in these rooms. Shakespeare also spent the first five years of married life in this house with his new wife, Anne Hathaway.

  8. Holy Trinity, Stratford, on the banks of the River Avon, is probably England's most-visited Parish Church. As well as being a thriving Parish church, it receives many thousands of visitors each year on account of the fact that William Shakespeare was baptized here, served as a lay rector of the church, and is buried in the chancel.

Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farmwas opened in 1985.  It is housed in a large greenhouse, landscaped with waterfalls, ponds and a wide variety of tropical plants.Hundreds of exotic butterflies from all over the world fly within this area.Visitors can walk throughout and observe behaviour and life-cycles at first hand.Many of the species on display are bred in the Farm, giving visitors the opportunity to see caterpillars of all shapes and sizes.

  15. Dion DublinHe is a retired English footballer.  He had spells with Norwich City (twice), Cambridge United, Manchester United, Coventry City,Millwall, Aston Villa, Leicester City and Celtic. Away from football, Dublin is also an accomplished amateur percussionist. He invented a percussion instrument, which he called "The Dube", and in 2011, he accompanied Ocean Colour Scene in a gig at the University of East Anglia.

  16. William Shakespeare He was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and also dramatist. He is often called England's national poet and the "Bard of Avon“. His surviving works, including some collaborations, consist of about 38 plays,154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and several other poems. His plays have been translated into every major living language and are performed more often than those of any other playwright.
