Together for Quality Timeline (cont’d) February 2009: Alabama discovered data not saving after being input into the ROI calculator March 2009: Webinar with AHRQ and Thomson Reuters to discuss saving data in the ROI calculator ROI tool determined to not be compatible with Excel 2007 Alabama tapped as beta tester of the HTML version of the tool April 2009: Alabama given further instruction on what to include in participant numbers

Together for Quality Timeline (cont’d) May 2009: Input information added to the output file of the tool and ability to download output file to Excel Review of Alabama results; determined number of outpatient visits and costs were high Recalculation by Alabama of number and costs of outpatient visits March 31, 2010: End of pilot program Alabama provided 3-month tail for all claims to be submitted for payment July 2010: Began calculating the ROI for the case management portion of TFQ

TFQ Highlights 213,825 Medicaid eligibles in pilot counties 21,780 asthma recipients in pilot counties 1,296 recipients who participated in TFQ care coordination Decreased number of recipients with ER and hospital visits and ancillary charges Increased number of recipients on asthma medication Increased outpatient visits
