Role of Directorate of Arecanut and Spices Development (DASD) under NHM Directorate is • Responsible for coordinating and monitoring the activities on development of arecanut, spices, and aromatic plants. • Responsible for organizing National level training programmes, seminars and workshops on spices and medicinal & aromatic plants on regular intervals. • Directorate supplements the developmental efforts of the State Govt. by making available the nucleus planting materials of various HYV of spices and aromatic plants across the country, through a centralised nursery programme at major centres of cultivation. • Directorate disseminates periodically the seasonal crop prospects, area coverage, price trend etc. for the use in the planning process.
