Meerkats. By:Jasey Goings. Location. The meerkat lives in the southern part of Africa. As you can see in the picture. The climate is dry. Africa doesn’t get much rain so the meerkat gets its fluids by the fruit and things it eats. Size.

  2. Location • The meerkat lives in the southern part of Africa. As you can see in the picture. The climate is dry. Africa doesn’t get much rain so the meerkat gets its fluids by the fruit and things it eats.

  3. Size • The size of an average adult meerkat is 10-14 inches without their tail.

  4. Learned traits 1. To live in a group 2. To dig 3. To nurse their young while standing 4.To hunt and survive

  5. Inherited Traits • Brown/Tan fur • Little feet • Black nose • Tail • And in this case a tutu • Little feet

  6. Diet • The meerkat is a carnivore. It eats lizards, snails, scorpions, small birds, rodents, insects, grubs, bird eggs, roots and tubers.
