In your groups • Read round robin to hear the words, stopping at periods, question marks, semicolons, colons or exclamation marks • Paraphrase in your journals and look up any words you don’t know. Determine what is happening • Cast parts and read the scene again, this time in parts • If needed, cut some lines, but only to make the scene clearer. Double up parts if you’d like or split the character in two if needed • Get on your feet and add movement • Rehearse until you can communicate the scene to an audience
Activies-what we do Goals-what I want you to learn Deeper understanding of characters thus far • Act 2 scenes • Instant Performance • Round Robin Reading • Discussion

Individually in your journals • Choose a character that you are most interested in following through the rest of the play. Choose from Othello, Desdemona, or Iago • Choose any scene we have read thus far and imagine you are playing one of the roles. • Review the lines in the scene • Figure out your character’s objective in the scene • Figure out your character’s Superobjective for the play as a whole • Explain which lines (and cite line numbers) that tips off the objective • Describe your character.
