  2. Introduction Cedar stands out as a durable and beautiful option for your various residential and official needs. It has the power to stand up to insects and other weather elements. However if you want that your cedar wood projects lasts long, there is a need of proper care and maintenance. Sealing cedar wood is essential if you are using it for outer building projects, for the interior projects, you can leave it unsealed.

  3. Characteristics of cedar wood: • Cedar is naturally resistant to rot. • Rough Cedar lumber can be a perfect building material. • Though its light in weight but it’s still harder than most of the softwoods. • It is less likely to crack and split as it is structurally stable. • Cedar’s rot-resistant oils make it completely insect-resistant due to strong aroma.

  4. Sealing Exterior Cedar Cedar can be a perfect option for various outdoor projects such as fence, furniture etc due to its stability and rot-resistance property. However to prevent its natural color in direct sunlight it needs to be sealed. Apply the sealant or stain to clean and dry cedar as the sealing will work perfectly on dry wood. Use a brush or roller to apply the sealant on every part whether big or small. Repeat applying this every two to three years.
