  4. Know and understand what “normal” is for your animal

  5. Be sure your animal is healthy before taking it anywhere.

  6. Vaccinate?Check with a veterinarian to know what/if is appropriate

  7. Use fly and insect repellent

  8. Keep bedding clean and manure piles to a minimum

  9. Disinfect new stalls, pens, etc. before putting an animal inside 1 part bleach – 10 parts H2O

  10. You can carry it too

  11. Rubber or Leather Boots

  12. Don’t allow your animal to touch noses with another

  13. How far should I stay away? 35 Feet

  14. Don’t share equipment between animals

  15. Let water fall to the bucket, don’t submerge hoses

  16. Some Animals can be carriers and only shed during times of stress

  17. Isolate, when you go home 14 day isolation is standard
