Giovanni Bellini By Grace Walsh
Giovanni Bellini (1430-1516), was a Venetian painter, is probably the best known of the Bellini family. The type of art he painted was Religious. He used a lot of colour and atmosphere in oil painting. His father was Jacopo Bellini and his brother was Gentile Bellini.
Giovanni also had a sister Niccolsa who married Andrea Mantegain. Andrea was also a Renaissance painter. He is considered to have changed the way of Venetian painting, making it a more "sensuous and colouristic style". His most famous pupils were Giorgione and Titian.
Paintings Here are his best known paintings. But a while after his death most of his bestest works were destroyed in a church fire in 1577.
