  1. Should I be worried about mice in my home? If you are living in Canada you will have to common species of mice namely House mouse and Deer Mouse. Some of these species live in the wild and live in burrows of underground while others live on the surface building nests. The house mouse is the most dangerous because it likes to live near human and invade homes when it becomes cold outside. Your homes provide warm shelter where they can build nests using your household materials and food that they can steal from pantry and food storage. While they live in forested or field areas, their preference easy availability of food, water and shelter from human make them move towards populated areas. They also need safety from predators and your home provides them that and some more. You will find their nests in pantry, garage, attics and voids in the walls. Some of these places are difficult to access by human and that is the reason you should call in a professional pest control North York outfit like BBPP, the most experienced mice exterminators in the area. What mice can do once they are inside homes? Once they are in they will start invading food storages and eat everything that comes across their way. They love to bite into food scraps, crackers, rice, seeds, fruits, nuts, food grains, and can eat up as many as 20 meals a day. Eating the food you provide is not enough for them as they will also set upon household furniture, clothing, paper, plastic bags, and cardboard boxes. They will use the material to build nests and will also chew wires, gnaw at woodwork, expose insulation and could even start a fire by short circuiting live wires. They are not only destroyer of food and property, they will also cause accidental fires by igniting live wires when the chew into them. They can cause deadly diseases Another worrying factor about mice is that they carry ticks, mites and fleas that can spread dangerous infections like Hanta Virus which can prove fatal to human. They also leave urine, feces, and droppings behind them and contaminate scattered food material and home surfaces with their saliva. All these can contaminate and become the reason for spreading disease through surface and air. The smallest particle of house mouse waster could be a dangerous disease carrier. Eating contaminated food engineered by mice can cause easily transmittable diseases like salmonellosis resulting in diarrhea, vomiting and fever. Mice also carry parasites like fleas and mites that can trigger dermatitis. It is an allergy or skin irritation that can cause skin redness, rashes, swelling and dry skin. You should be worried of mice infestation Since mice can chew, gnaw and bite through anything you should be worried about your furniture, clothing and structural components. You should be also worried about damage to wiring, home appliances, electronic items, car engine, car interior, wall siding, wall boards and wood work . These could be costly repair and replacements if not checked at early stage. Mouse infestation is capable of destroying domestic properties, restaurants, property management blocks, hotels, food storage facilities along with their reputation. The damage could be greater if they are allowed to thrive unchecked and a deer mouse can produce at the rate of a dozen x 4 times in a year.

  2. However, it is possible to remove your above worries and all you need to do is to engage the services of rodent exterminator North York, preferably BBPP, the top mice extermination professionals in the area.
