TEN THINGS GOD WON'T ASK ON THAT DAY:
1... How much money you had in your bank account at the time of your death? He will ask you if you used your money to do good or did you hoard it for your own pleasures, trips, dining and entertainment?
Mark 6:7-8 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; 8 And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse: • Acts 4:37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet. • 1 Tim 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
MANY WOULD SAY… • I don’t love money • How would one tell if a Christian loves money? • What did Judas do? • If Christians cast nothing or just a small sum into the treasury but spending excessively or liberally for their own enjoyment, you would know they care little for the Lord, his church and its work and their brethren.
2... God won't ask the square footage of your house, He'll ask how many people you welcomed into your home. Were you hospitable? Did you entertain strangers, were you showing love for your fellow man?
Christians Must Be Hospitable • Luke 6:35-36 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. 36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. • Rom 12:13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. • Titus 1:8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
3... God won't ask about the clothes you had in your closet, He'll ask how many you helped to clothe and did you love your clothes more than him.
Often our clothing causes evil.. • James 2:3-4 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: 4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts? • Mark 12:38-39 And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,39 And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:
Often our clothing causes evil.. • 1 Peter 3:3-5 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
4... God won't ask what your highest salary was. He'll ask if you compromised your character to obtain it or if you loved the money so much that you forsook him
Getting ahead at all cost…. • Matt 20:4 And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. • Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Getting ahead at all cost…. • Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. • Rom 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. • 2 Cor 8:21 Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.
5... God won't ask what you did with all your time and energy. He will ask you if you did the things he commanded?
Have you dedicated yourself .. • Rom 2:7-9 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: 8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
Have you dedicated yourself .. • Rom 6:16-17 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. • What if someone said you were a servant of Satan? Would that be ok with you ?
6... God won't ask how many friends you had. He'll ask how many people to whom you were a friend and did you tell them about him and how he sent his only begotten Son to save them from their sins.
Christians must love the lost… • Matt 5:46-48 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? Do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
7... God won't ask you how popular you were in your community? He will ask you if you were a good neighbor? Did you show your neighbors the care that a Christian cares for the lost?
More than just loving neighbor • Matt 5:43-46 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
8... God won't ask about the color of your skin, He will expect you to love all your fellowmen and not look at fleshly things but spiritual things.
God looks at heart and we should too ! • 1 Sam 16:7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.
9... God won't ask why it took you so long to seek Salvation. He will gladly accept anyone with a good heart that chooses to follow him as long as time permits, but when time is over, he will accept no one!
Third hour is ok but dangerous.. • Matt 20:3-7 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, 4 And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?
Eleventh is more dangerous.. • Matt 20:9-11 And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. 10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny. 11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house, 13 But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? 14 Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.
10... God won't have to ask how many people you had a hand in getting to heaven because he already knows!
Rev 2:13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
