  2. Anchor point • The anchor point should be a solid black box fixed to a surface.

  3. Dot • Draw a large dot to show where the end of the rope is connected.

  4. Rope • Use a nice black line to represent the ropes.

  5. Pulley • Use a larger circle with a dot in the middle to represent the pulley. • You can use a sticker to represent your pulleys

  6. Load • Use the same symbol we used for load with levers. Draw a box with an “L” in it. L

  7. Effort E • Use the same symbol we used for effort with levers. Draw a circle with an “E” in it. L

  8. Direction E • Use a line with an arrow to show the direction of the effort and where the rope goes. L

  9. Labels E • Make sure you label each type of pulley in the system L Single-movable pulley
