ASPIRE April 28 – May 23 ACT Aspire will incorporate multiple question types including constructed response, selected response, and technology-enhanced items to better assess student knowledge and provide more meaningful insights.
TEST TIME… ELA and Social Studies: Focus on questions1-7 Math and Science: Focus on questions 8-11 What do you think will “trip students up” on these problems? (vocabulary used, common mistakes, level of rigor and thinking, etc.)
The Reading Portion… • 7th Grade: 60 minutes • 18-19 Selected Response • 2-3 Technology Enhanced • 3 Constructed Response • 8th Grade: 60 minutes • 18-19 Selected Response • 0-1 Technology Enhanced • 3 Constructed Response
The Math Portion… • 7th Grade: 60 minutes • 24-25 Selected Response • 5-6 Technology Enhanced • 4 Constructed Response • 8th Grade: 65 minutes • 27-29 Selected Response • 4-6 Technology Enhanced • 5 Constructed Response
Alabama Science Assessment 7th Grade Only • Date: Same window as the ASPIRE • Types of questions: Same as before

Going slow to go fast… • An Acquisition Lesson Plan is a plan for the concept, topic or skill ---Not for the Day. • Since these lesson plans are based upon concepts and topics, they are ultimately based upon our Essential Questions for our units and lessons.
A Shared Vision • Do we have a shared vision of what teaching and learning should look like?
A Shared Vision • 1 minute Pause… Silently, in one corner of the chart paper (outside of the circle), record the components you feel should be found in a great lesson.
A Shared Vision • Take about 3-5 minutes to discuss your ideas with your group. • Do your ideas reflect current research in education? • Do your ideas reflect the vision of ACCRS?
A Shared Vision In your groups, write inside the circle (using 15 words or less), the important components of a good lesson. When time is up, each group will share their thoughts.
