Repetition + Contemporary Issues Project 5
Contemporary issues • contemporary means having particular relevance to the present time. • Broad examples of current contemporary issues: International Conflict, Terrorism, Pollution & Waste Management, Natural Resources & Energy Conservation, Urban Development, Bioethics Market & Workforce Globalization, Mobile Technology & Communications, Information Management & Security
Narrow down ideas from broad to specific, for example: • animal rights: specifically stray cats, fur animals, etc • Abortion: specifically birth control, heathcare, religion, etc. • gun control: specifically school violence, gangs, personal safety, etc. • Education: specifically bilingual education, no child left behind, standardized testing, etc. • Drugs: specifically in schools, crossing the boarder, linked to poverty, suicide, etc.
Repitition Occurs when we use the same visual element or effect any number of times within a composition. The whole of often greater than the sum of the parts.
Continuity: A fluid connection among compositional parts. When objects are placed in close proximity, continuity often naturally occurs.
