Family Help and School Success / Hull 2003 Aims of Project • Early identification of at-risk children • targeted program for the development of children at pre-school level and their first year at school • developing parents‘ phonological awareness • parental assistance to support their children (overall aims of our project)

  4. Family Help and School Success / Hull 2003 Overview of Project I • Duration of pilot programmes: ca. 8 weeks • Period of pilot programmes: 24/04/03 - 30/05/03 • Total number of hours: 32h / 4h per week • Venue for delivery: primary school in an at-risk-area

Family Help and School Success / Hull 2003 Target Audience I • Age: 20 to 40 years • Ethnicity: balanced mix of native Germans permanently resettled migrants, new migrants and migrants of German nationality from Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union • Gender: women / promoting participation of fathers

  7. Family Help and School Success / Hull 2003 Target Audience II • Employment Status: unemployed persons, housewives, shift workers • Literacy needs: knowledge of German, elementary literacy, phonological consciousness of the German language • Numeracy needs: ----
