EUROPEAN CULTURAL ROUTE OF SAINTS CYRIL AND METHODIUS The European Cultural Route of Saints Cyril and Methodius will be a European network of cities and regions interconnecting historically important places of pilgrimage and utilizing their common cultural heritage for increasing competitiveness and attractiveness of European cities and regions. • AREAS FULFILLING CERTIFICATION CRITERIA • COOPERATION IN RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT • STRENGTHENING CONSIOUSNESS, HISTORY AND EUROPEAN CULTURAL HERITAGE • CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL EXCHANGE OF YOUNG EUROPEANS • EXISTING PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE IN PROJECTS INVOLVING CULTURE AND ART • CULTURAL TOURISM AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF CULTURE

EUROPEAN CULTURAL ROUTE OF SAINTS CYRIL AND METHODIUS PARTNERS Currently we can count on cooperation for implementing the European Cultural Route of Saints Cyril and Methodius with eleven partners: 2 domestic and 9 foreign partners, all of which are signatories to the Declaration of Cooperation Another four partners are in the negotiation phase.

PREPARED PROJECTS OF THE ECR CM EUROPEAN CULTURAL ROUTE OF SAINTS CYRIL AND METHODIUS, EXTENSION OF ROUTE (1/2) • Program: INTERREG IV A • Priority:1 Support of socio-cultural and economic development of the cross-border region and cooperation • Area of support: 1.6 Micro-project Fund • Appeal: no. 10 • Implementation period:May 2013 – December 2013 (8months) • Partners: City of Gbely (Slovakia), Masaryk Museum in Hodonin (CR) • Project status: implementation phase The aim of the project is to extend the existing Saints Cyril and Methodius Route to Slovakia, including drafting of designation (signs) in the field and trail identification

PREPARED PROJECTS OF THE ECR CM EUROPEANCULTURAL ROUTE OF SAINTS CYRIL AND METHODIUS, EXTENSION OF ROUTE(2/2) • Outcomes • mapping attractions and tourism services in the immediate vicinity of the route (around 5 km, in the interest of equal access); • draft proposal for extending the Pilgrimage Trail of Saints Cyril and Methodius; • graphics and a manual for designating the Pilgrimage Trail of Saints Cyril and Methodius including a proposal for an information system, maintenance and restoration of signs; • documentationfor the building permit for the information system • Result • material for designating the Pilgrimage Trail of Saints Cyril and Methodius: • St. Kopeček – St. Hostýn – Velehrad – St. Antonínek – Mikulčice – Gbely – Šaštín

PREPARED PROJECTS OF THE ECR CM PILGRIMAGE TRAIL OF SAINTS CYRIL AND METHODIUS, IMPLEMENTATION (1/2) • Program: INTERREG IV A • Priority:1 Support of socio-cultural and economic development of the cross-border region and cooperation • Area of support: 1.6 Micro-project Fund • Appeal: no. 11 • Implementation period:December 2013 – June 2014 (7months) • Partners: City of Gbely (Slovakia), Masaryk Museum in Hodonín (CR) • Project status: in approval process The aim of the micro-project is implementation of extension of the Pilgrimage Trail of Saints Cyriland Methodius including designation (signs) in the field and building information panelsforensuringidentityof the trail. Creation of a bulletin informing on the route of the pilgrimagetrailandonchurchandhistoricalmonumentsrelatingtothetrailfoundnearbythe trail.

PREPARED PROJECTS OF THE ECR CM PILGRIMAGE TRAIL OF SAINTS CYRIL AND METHODIUS, IMPLEMENTATION (2/2) • Outcomes • implementation of relabeling of the existing trail of the Cyril and Methodius Pilgrimage Route • implementation of designation of the new trail of the Cyril and Methodius Pilgrimage Route (St. Antonínek – Mikulčice) • expansionoftheinformationsystem of the Cyril and Methodius Pilgrimage Route • information bulletin on the Cyril and Methodius Pilgrimage Route • Result • The Cyril and Methodius Pilgrimage Route with a unified form of designation and an information system giving the pilgrimage route a distinct identity.

WHAT IS THE CONFERENCE OUTCOME? • PRESENTATION OF A STRATEGY FOR FULFILLING THE FIVE AREAS OF THE PROJECT “EUROPEAN CULTURAL ROUTE OF SAINTS CYRIL AND METHODIUS” • DISCUSSIONS DURING WORKSHOPS • AGREEING ON A STRATEGY BY INDIVIDUAL PARTNERS • STARTING COOPERATION ON PREPARATIONS FOR IMPLEMENTING ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE STRATEGY • DRAFT ORGANIZATIONAL AND MANAGING STRUCTURE
