Beds & Borders’ “Gaia Design” The Gaia hypothesis (/ˈɡaɪ.ə, ˈɡeɪ.ə/, GY-uh, GAY-uh), also known as the Gaia theory or the Gaia principle, proposes that organisms interact with their inorganic surroundings on Earth to form a synergistic self-regulating, complex system that helps to maintain and perpetuate the conditions for life on the planet. From chemicals to climate change, the effects on the environment is one of the most important issues we face today. For this reason Beds & Borders Landscape Design has committed itself to sustainable, eco-conscious landscaping that enriches and improves the environment. We have coined this new philosophy “Gaia Design.” The principals within this philosophy take into consideration all aspects of the landscape as we strive to create unity within aesthetics and ecology. We are confident this balance we seek not only will be impactful within your personal domain, but its effects will be seen in all the landscapes Beds & Borders create in the Twin Cities. Expect us on-time and ready to view the area/areas of need in your yard. Outline project objectives. Determine design costs. Establish budget.

  4. DESIGN (Day 1) – Site Measurements, Idea Conceptualization and Photos (Week 1 & 2) – Dynascape Landscape Design Creation. (Week 3) – Schedule Presentation. (Week 3 & 4) – Presentation of Design and Estimate. (Week 5) – Revisions (if necessary). (Week 6) – Contract Creation. (Week 7 & 8) – Schedule Project once Deposit is Received.

  5. Build Break Ground. Build Hardscape. Install Softscape. Punch-List/Warranty The installation process begins after the design is finalized. Many clients strive to finalize the design work over the winter, if not the preceding fall, in order to beat the spring rush. As soon as it warms up enough to melt the underground frost, we begin implementing the plans according to the previously decided job calendar. Our typical job takes about a week to two, depending on the complexity. With two reasonable-sized crews we can complete a lot of work in a short amount of time. We keep our quality high by keeping our crew size manageable, and we always give personal service with high-quality work.
