OUR MISSION O desígnio do DSA da CMVM is, through audit oversight, to promote audit quality, mainly in the case of PIE (public interest entities), allowing the public confidence in the audit profession (and, therefore, in their financial statements), thus contributing to the confidence of investors and the economic and social development of our country.

  22. Our ACTIVITIES The most relevant activity Carried out exclusively by CMVM Object: PIE auditors (either on PIE files or non-PIE files) Nº EIP: 1,108 Nº de auditores de EIP: 60 Risk model to select auditors and audit files Cycles: 3 or 6 years PIE: publicinterestentities

  23. Our ACTIVITIES CMVM analyses the Quality Control process carried out by the Chamber of Auditors and presents requalifications and recommendations, when needed.

  24. Our ACTIVITIES Inspections based on complaints received or informations from diferente sources (media, other departments, etc.)

Our ACTIVITIES • Registration of auditors • Fit and proper assessment of auditors • Analysis of non-audit services • Preparation of FAQ and regulations • Evaluation of information received from auditors by extranet: • list of PIE audited by auditor etc • Information about going-concern, qualifications, etc. • Transparency reports • Information to calculate auditors fees

OTHER ISSUES • We started by establishing procedures • To design a risk model for planned oversight • The rotation of auditors • Fit and proper assessment • Non-audit services: • Limits • Forbidden • The approval by the supervisory body • Audit committees / supervisory bodies • Recommendations • Sanctions > in the 2 first years: to adopt a more pedagogical attitude
