Main Actions to Date 1. Reviewed and updated the original Standards 2. Encourage ethical practice after production of Code of Ethics 3. Produce CPD portfolio 4. Start discussion of educational pathways
CMSUK – Continuing Professional Portfolio for Case Managers • CPD manual template portfolio • Started to look at computerised/on-line versions • Now underway to provide on-line version for members • Is this a separate professional portfolio for case managers (or a bolt on to other portfolios..)
CMSUK – Continuing Professional Development for Case Managers • Separate profession of case management… • How to prove training and development as a case manager? • What is suitable training/education? • How can it be recognised or certified?
CMSUK – A Career Pathway for Case Managers • Formed a Steering Group with education experts to decide best way forward • Met and decided that it needs proper research • Project Brief being developed • Project Officer – 12 month research (funding required..)

CMSUK & other Organisations • International update • Dialogue with VRA on mutual goals with a view to working together to achieve these. • Participant in 'supporter' group with the UKRC to work with them to ensure they are current on events and issues that affect Case Managers and rehabilitation. • Working with CARF to develop international Standards in Case Management • Have shared our Case Management Standards or Practice and Code of Ethics with the Case Management Society of the Canada and Australia as they are currently developing there own. • Liaising with the Certification Body in the USA to see if there is any scope to develop anything with them that would be suitable for our market.
