  1. Mission Statement • The mission of Garden Oaks Elementary’sEnvironmental Sciences program is to empower learners to become critically thinking citizens through inquiry-based instruction across disciplines.

  2. Vision Statement • The vision of Garden Oaks Elementary Environmental Sciences is to develop and support a learning community that is actively engaged in individualized STEM-based learning and application.

  3. Goals

  4. Curriculum • Expansion and enrichment of research-based hands-on inquiry science curriculum that is aligned to state, district and national standards and fosters application to real-life.

  5. Professional Development • Support educators in implementing and assessing inquiry-based science.

  6. Assessment • Establish a means for measuring success towards establishing an effective inquiry-based science program.

  7. Material Support • Ensure that teachers have timely and efficient access to appropriate materials to support inquiry-based science instruction.

  8. Administrative and Community Support • Collaborate with community stakeholders to recruit assistance in sustaining science on campus.
