  2. Where did it all start? Thanksgiving, in, Canada goes back to 1578 when a European explorer named Martian Frobisher landed on the shores of Newfoundland. Frobisher held formal ceremony to thank God for a safe journey across the Atlantic. This is considered the first thanksgiving in North America

  3. AHarvestFestival • First Nations groups have always celebrated after the harvest. • In 1957 the Canadian government made it a statutory holiday saying: “A Day of General Thanksgiving to Almighty God for the bountiful harvest with which Canada has been blessed … to be observed on the 2nd Monday in October”

  4. Turkeys • Everybody likes Turkey at Thanksgiving • I like turkey with: • Mashed Potatoes • Cranberry Sauce • Gravy • More Turkey
