Retro renovation brief The situation... Your client has recently purchased a very dated and run down seventies town house that requires renovation.
Problem The client would like the interior design to be a contemporary reflection on the original seventies character of the house. In order to establish the right look you will need to research interior designs from the seventies, as well as contemporary examples so that you can create a design solution for the living room...
Specifications • Your design needs to include furniture and other decorative elements such as rugs, wall hangings , curtains, art works etc. Furniture could be of your own design, something photographed from a second hand store...etc. • The client would like the design to be a contemporary reflection on the original character of the house. • The interior should be a comfortable space; ie the client does not want stark minimalism.
The house does not require Any major structural changes but The client would like to fill in the door Behind the piano to make space for an in-built Entertainment unit. Use free hand sketching to Develop a concept for the entertainment unit. Present the final design as an oblique pictorial drawing.
Requirements • Research interior design from the seventies as Well as contemporary design in order to develop a Look for your interior design. • Research interior decorating products to be used As part of your interior design (eg paint colours, Fabric samples etc.) • Generate 2d and 3d developmental concept • Sketches for both the recessed entertainment • Unit, and your interior design for the living room.
Generate a finished oblique pictorial drawing of the proposed in built entertainment unit. • Present all finished drawings with relevant colour/ product swatches, photographs, and other additional information that would help give the client an accurate idea of how your interior may look. • Create a third angle orthographic drawing of the space to show the plan and at least two other principal views.
Select an aspect of the room and create a fully rendered planometric pictorial drawing of the space. Your drawing should be in isometric projection. Use the floor plan and the photographs provided for this task.
