Sighisoara Situated in the middle of the country, Sighisoara is one of the fewest fortress-cities in Romania, and at the end of the XIXth century it was called “The Transilvanian Pearl”. Sighisoara is a very special city because it gave birth to a Multicultural Community. The main tourist attraction is the medieval fortress, with towers, bastions, churches and houses, all well-kept until nowadays. The Clock-Tower, the entrance to the fortress represents the symbol of the town. At the 4th floor there is a unique clock made of figures and this clock is the one that gave the tower its name.
Sighisoara,Transilvania’s Nürenberg, represents a public attraction and interest. Moreover, Sighisoara succeeded, through the Medieval Festival, to become famous in the whole world. The events usually take place in the historical medieval centre of the city. In Sighisoara you can find an active cultural activity. Some of the Annual International Festivals are: • The Medieval Art Festival: at the end of July • The Academic Music Festival: that promotes young talents • The National Communities “Pro Etnica” Festival Every Friday you can listen to the organ concert, at the Monastery’s Church.

Famous restaurants Vlad Dracul House: A Restaurant not to miss The Vlad Dracul House is a really superb restaurant which also provides service on a wonderful terrace decorated with plants and colorful flowers. It gives you a feeling of warmth and welcome. The food is mainly local and is truly delicious and the service is also good and prices adequate. Casa cu Cerb: the best restaurant in town Casa cu Cerb is a hotel and restaurant. The restaurant is generally agreed to be the best in Sighisoara and, of course, Prince Charles ate here on his visit in 2002. The food is superb and the service is excellent. I had the most delicious dinner here that I have eaten at any restaurant in Romania: meat and dumplings in paprika sauce followed by chestnut puree with whipped cream and rum sauce.
