Related to currency basket of the US dollar index (57.6% in euro’s, 13.6% in Japanese yen, 11.9% in British pounds, 9.1% in Canadian dollars, 4.2% in Swedish crones and 3.6% in Swiss francs). Since the index went up in 1995 from a long term resistance level of 80 to a high of 120 in 2001, at the time the euro was introduced, it dropped to a low of 72 in March 2008, but has been followed by a strong upward correction to $ 87 well above the historic resistance level, before showing a new correction to a current level of 77.
