  1. Lesson 3: Using Context Clues to Decode Vocabulary Please sign the attendance clipboard.

  2. Share a News Story • Just like last class, please tell us about any news story you’ve heard recently. • Get into the habit of regularly visiting your favorite news websites so that you always have something to share with the class.

  3. Jigsaw Reading Activity • Work with a partner that you have not worked with before (move seats if necessary). • You and your partner will receive different articles and vocabulary dittos. • Read your article and match the vocabulary words to the correct definitions as you go. • Try to figure out the correct definitions based on the reading. • Do not talk to your partner yet.

  4. Discuss Your Article • Turn your article upside down. • Take turns discussing the articles you read. Tell your partner as many details from the article as you can remember.

  5. Answer Questions • Answer the questions based on what your partner told you about their story. • If you need to, you can ask your partner the question. • If you need to, you can also refer to your article now.

  6. Give me your vocabulary matching & your partner questions. • Take a homework slip. Enjoy the rest of your day!
