FRATERNIZATION DEFINED Fraternization is any over familiarity that erodes the senior-subordinate relationship.
EFFECTS OF FRATERNIZATION • Compromises the Chain of Command • Destroys Morale. • Hinders the Ability of a Leader by Undermining the Command Authority • Ultimately Could Cost Lives
TYPES OF FRATERNIZATION • Officer – Enlisted: Most Common • Officer – Officer • Non-commisioned officer -Enlisted • Instructor – Student • Recruiter - Recruit
FRATERNIZATION: KEY POINTS • Both Parties, Senior and Junior, are accountable for their actions. • Marriage: Not unlawful but, ---must maintain the requisite respect and decorum while either is on duty ---marriage is not a defense for a previously existing improper relationship
