  1. How to Add Patrons to the Auto-Graphics Database A tutorial for librarians using Agent VERSO

  2. Go to Staff Menu

  3. Click the Circulation Tab

  4. Select Patron Status & Checkout

  5. Select New

  6. Complete the pop-up library registration form

  7. Student Registrations: • Data fields that appear in RED typeface are mandatory and must be completed. • Student Usernames must be made to be the student’s ID number. • Student Passwords must be made to be the last 4 digits of the student’s Social Security Number or the on-line or international student’s PIN number.

  8. Faculty & Employee Registrations • Data fields that appear in RED typeface on the pop-up library registration form are mandatory and must be completed. • Faculty & Employee USERNAMES must be made to be the individual’s FIRST NAME + the last 4 digits of their Social Security Number (For example: JANE1234) REMEMBER: employee usernames and first and last names must be in ALL CAPS so that future record updates will correctly replace records made “on the fly.” • Faculty & Employee PASSWORDS must be made to be the individual’s last name (for example: Doe --- Upper or lower case letters are not important for Passwords)

  9. REMEMBER! Students and Faculty usernames and passwords are constructed differently! Employee username and first and last names must be in ALL CAPS so that future record updates will correctly replace records made “on the fly.” Inform the patron of their login username and password! Home Location and User Group blanks on the pop-up library registration form MUST AGREE except when you are registering a new Library Staff Member! You MUST Select SUBMIT to complete adding a patron to the database!

  10. Best Practices • Faculty/Staff passwords: LAST NAME – should be as it appears on their paycheck (“Smith”). If their last name is hyphenated (for example, “Tyler-Cruz”) or consists of MULTIPLE names (for example, “de los Santos”), pick the first name as the password: (for example “Tyler” and “Santos”). • Do not use spaces or hyphens in the USERNAME or PASSWORD! • Nicknames are not permitted • Be sure patron records indicate they are either an employee or a student (as appropriate) by selecting the correct choice in the corresponding space on the pop-up library registration form. • Enter a personal email address for an employee if they are new and do not yet have an @keiseruniversity.edu email address. • Inform all students that it is their responsibility to check their @student.keiseruniversity.edu email address for library overdue notices. Library notices are to be sent by email to the student’s @student.keiseruniversity.edu email address. • Employee username and first and last names must be in all caps so that future record updates will correctly replace records made “on the fly.”
