“Excellence” is NOT average, mediocre, or commonplace …we request and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us instruction as to how you ought to walk and please God (just as you actually do walk), that you excel still more. 1 Thessalonians 4:1 Now as to the love of the brethren, you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another;10. for indeed you do practice it toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, to excel still more, 1 Thessalonians 4:9-10 Excellent behavior is not average or common

Excellent Behavior for Wives would mean Submission Thayer… subject one’s self, submit to control, to yield Result of this behavior is fourfold… • Influence, without a word • Imperishable qualities • Has value with God • It is the “right” thing
Excellent Behavior for Husbands would mean Understanding “understanding” - with or according to knowledge Also demonstrated in two ways • Understand she is a weaker vessel • Grant honor as a “sister” Result of this behavior? • Your prayers are heard!!
Excellent Behavior for ALL “uncommon” traits for ALL Christians • Harmonious • Sympathetic • Brotherly • Kind-hearted • Humble • Blessing others
And the Result of Excellent Behavior? • Makes life enjoyable • Eyes of the Lord watch over • Ears of the Lord “attend” It is good for others, Good for self, And good for salvation.
