  1. Welcome to Ms. Regenold’s 5th Grade Math Class!

  2. Classroom Expectations • Respect yourself, others, and school property • Take responsibility for your own learning • Give your best at all times and in all situations

  3. What to bring to class every day… • Your smile :o) • A pencil • Your math journal • A folder with pockets • Pens are allowed only for grading

  4. Classroom Procedures • Walk into the classroom quietly and sharpen your pencil if needed • Put your whiteboard and marker under your desk if there is a note on the board • Sit down, write your homework in your folder, and begin your journal work • You may borrow a pencil from the flower pot if needed

  5. Classroom Procedures • To answer or ask a question please raise your hand and wait to be called on • Please do not pack up until I dismiss you • Line up quickly and quietly

  6. What to do if… • The phone rings: Sit quietly in your seat and look over the notes in your journal • An adult walks in the room: Quietly look over the notes in your journal • Your pencil breaks: Quietly borrow a pencil out of the flower pot

  7. Homework Policy • You will have homework 3-4 nights per week • Homework is due at the beginning of class • If you forgot your homework you may turn it in one day late, however you will receive 5 points off. If it is more than 2 days late it will receive 10 points off per day. • Homework is not accepted more than one week late

  8. If you were absent… • During success time get your notes and assignments from the back of the room • Look on the calendar to make sure you did not forget to pick up any papers • Write your absent work assignments into your folder • All absent work is due the day after your return from your absence

  9. Candy Corn!! • Each class has a candy corn jar • The class that has the most candy corn in their jar at the end of each six weeks wins a popcorn party • Your class can earn candy corn by: • Coming in quietly • Sitting down • Beginning your problem of the day

  10. Clipboard • The clipboard follows our class to every room • You will receive a mark on the clipboard for the following reasons: • Being disrespectful • Disrupting class • Poor restroom behavior • Not showing HALL • No homework

  11. Clipboard continued If you receive a mark on the clipboard you will lose recess time: 1 mark = 5 minutes lost 2 marks = 10 minutes lost 3 marks = All of recess lost No homework = No recess

  12. HELP!!! • If you need extra assistance in math for any reason you may see Ms. Regenold during the following times: • During success time • After school • Please do not hesitate to ask questions during class. I love to answer questions :o)
