Global Feed & Food Congress (GFFC) has become a tri-annual meeting point for the world’s feed industry leaders and those involved in the production and sale of foodstuffs from the efficient and safe production of animal feeds.
GFFC is organized jointly by the International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF) and the UN’s Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO). The three-day, April 20-23, 2010 event - be held in Cancun, Mexico - is being hosted by CONAFAB, the Mexican feed industry association and IFIF member.
This is the 3rd time GFFC is to be held in Latin America. The location of III GFFC reflects the importance of the region in terms of livestock production - and Mexico in particular - is at the centre of world development in terms of meeting growing demand for foodstuffs through livestock production. Over 3 days, in April 2010, participants and speakers from many different countries (from Argentina to Canada and China to USA) will discuss a range of issues related to safe food production.
III GFFC is expecting over 700 delegates and speakers, of which more than 400 will travel to Mexico. We expect more than 30 multi-national companies - among them Cargill, Potash Corp, Bunge, Danisco, ADM, DSM, Novus, Ajinomoto, Deggusa, Elanco, Nutreco, Rabobank(many sponsors from II GFFC, held in Sao Paolo, Brazil in 2007) - to assist in developing a cutting-edge programme that achieves our target of addressing common concerns and identifying opportunities throughout the food chain.
The theme of III GFFC 2010 is ‘The Food Chain - From Farm to Table’ IFIF’s three-pillars strategy aims to address world hunger while at the same time resolving feed/food safety issues globally, paying close attention to trade, sustainability, efficiency of production and minimizing the impact of feeding on the environment. IFIF’s three-pillars ‘PET’ strategy covers Policies - Education - Technology
