  3. Intended OutcomesWhat should I learn as a result? Value of PlanningWhy bother caring about any of this? • Because planning and evaluation are Board-authorized activities and official district practices • BP 3250, Institutional Planning (AP 3250 in draft) • BP 4020, Program, Curriculum, Course Development & Program Discontinuance • AP 1202, Implementing Institutional Effectiveness • AP 4000, Sustaining Standards of Educational Excellence • AP 4020, Process for Program Discontinuance • Because without planning, how resources are allocated becomes a black hole for anyone on campus who is not directly involved

  5. Value of PlanningWhy bother caring about any of this? • Because it is standard practice for effective institutions and expected practice for accredited institutions—consider the recommendations we received from the March 2011 ACCJC Visiting Team (handout).
