Toxics in Packaging Legislation • Introduced in 1989 • 19 states • Phase out: • Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, & • Hexavalent Chromium in packaging • Exemptions -- w/expiration dates -- for recycled materials, reusable packaging, no alternatives phase-outs
