Overview • Annually the FDOT prepares a Draft Tentative Work Program that contains numerous transportation related projects, which are intended to maintain and enhance the state’s transportation system, e.g., Aviation, Rail, Traffic Signal, Safety, Resurfacing, Road Projects, Bike/Ped and Transit projects. • FDOT requests transportation priorities from MPOs/TPOs for funding consideration in the development of its Draft Tentative Work Program. • The 2011 Priority Transportation Projects adopted by the TPO in June is the source for many of the new projects contained in the Draft Tentative Work Program. Overview • The TPO’s Priority Projects include: • Road Priorities • Congestion Management Set-Aside • Congestion Management Projects • Transit Projects • Transportation Enhancement • Regional Multi-Use Trail Projects Draft Tentative Work Program
Overview • In most instances the TPO’s Adopted Transportation Plans are the source for many of the candidate priority projects. • Long Range Transportation Plan • Transit Development Plan • Congestion Management Plan • Annual Review of FDOT Resurfacing Projects • TPO staff also coordinates with FDOT and local governments in the development of the project lists. Transit Projects • Include candidate transit capital and operating assistance for the Lakeland Area Mass Transit District (LAMTD) and Winter Haven Area Transit (WHAT). • The 2008 – 2017 Consolidated Transit Development Plan (TDP) is the source for these projects. Draft Tentative Work Program

Recommendation • The TPO’s Citizens’ and Technical Advisory Committees recommend that the TPO Board endorse the Draft Tentative Work Program as being consistent with the TPO’s 2011 Priority Transportation Projects (including the Turnpike Enterprise Tentative Projects). • (FM# 4106662) Advance SR 542 ROW Phase from FY 2016/17; • (FM# 4310921) Advance the CST for SR 37 Sidewalk from FY 2014/15 to FY 2013/14; • (FM# 4299351) Do not delete the PE phase for Waring Road/Dranefield Rd Intersection; • SR 563 Extension (N-S Route) – Surcharging vs. bridging this project. • (FM# 4310911) US 98 Sidewalk Limits need to be changed to match the project request – Winthrop Ave. to Fredericksburg Ave. • Prior to deleting projects from the Draft Tentative Work Program, FDOT is requested to coordinate with the TPO and local governments affected by the project.
