3.1.5 Structural Efficiency Nathan Stroud, Chandler Dove, and Justin acevedo
Intro to the Project • In this project we had to design and construct a structure built out of index cards that could hold a minimum of 5 lbs and has a good structural efficiency rating compared to other groups.
Structural Efficiency Rating Calculation 6.5 lbs / 0.06172936 lbs = 105.298354
Conclusion • 1.) Some factors that could effect the choice of materials for the structure are the load, the purpose of the building, and the design. • 2.) Yes because the formula calls for weight and load and doesn’t change due to purpose or function. • 3.) Because he cares about the design and testing before he gets to the actual structure.
