:: final assignment • Design, or redesign, the logo for an existing company, or the company of a friend, using the graphical and conceptual skills that you are learning in this class. • Deliverables: • Due 11.01.05 – [Round 1] Creative brief and 20 initial rough sketches are due • Due 11.08.05 – [Round 2] 10 different rough sketches and/or digital mock-ups – all must be labeled with a thematic title • Due 11.15.05 – [Round 3] 6 comps for client review (6 different designs in digital format ) – all must be labeled with a thematic title • Due 11.29.05 – 3 different final logos are due for client review – all must be labeled with a thematic title
:: final assignment • The process will start by defining the identity of your company and establishing the goals of the logo design by drafting a creative brief. • Then you will go through the full design process of rough sketches and visual experiments using different design elements that will form a set of visual icons that symbolize the company’s identity. • The final 3 logos must be thematically titled and visually different while all meeting the goals of your initial creative brief.
:: final assignment • Format: • 10 “final” sketches: black & white; use black marker on white paper; 8.5” x 11” paper; all must be labeled with a thematic title; • Final logo designs (3) in two formats: to be handed in digitally as both an illustrator file (.ai) and as an image (.gif); document setup: CMYK, 8.5” x 11”; all must be labeled with a thematic title; • Your final Illustrator document should have 4 layers in it: • 3 layers will include each logo design on its own layer • 1 layer will include all logos on it for comparison
