E-Trips • What is an e-trip? An e-trip is a computer simulation in which you can explore and interact with a place, an idea, or an environment. • Our families have traveled around the country virtually touring national museums. Students have conducted science experiments on how to make their own ice cream to figuring out how many M&Ms should be in a bag. Our students have also learned about different careers from working at the post office to living on a cruise ship! Come and see what our families have done, virtually!!

K12 Learning Circles Advanced Learner Program (ALP) • Flat Stanley Project • Living Museum • Creative Writing • Careers Discussions for 6th-8th grade students • Post Cards from World Travelers K¹²’s Advanced Learner Program turns education up a few notches. Our students participate in extra-curricular activities to develop their hungry minds!
CLUBS • Book Club (K-8 and Middle School)- Book club meets 6 times in a 2 week period. The students are assigned chapters to read the night before. Then we have open discussions during the meeting time about events, characters, and setting. We make predictions about that night’s assigned reading and the students have a chance to discuss with each other different aspects of the book. • Book Buddies for K-3 • Middle School Reading Remediation • Fun Friday- Our Fun Friday club meets monthly and students are able to participate in a variety of activities. They also attend various break out rooms where they have movie corner, cooks in the kitchen, photography studio, video game mania, actor stage, and scientist lab.

SPIRIT WEEK • Spirit Week is a time for families to show their community and the world, their school spirit! This years Spirit Week was held February 1-5, 2010. During those five days we had special themes and offered fun ideas that let families express their school spirit in a big way! • Day 1- Appreciation and Inspiration • Day 2- Pay it Forward • Day 3- School Somewhere Unique • Day 4- I heart my school and my virtual education • Day 5- Freaky Friday • Students sent their teachers and learning coaches thank you e-mails, donated clothes to the nearest homeless shelter, schooled in a tub, and swapped roles with their learning coach . • It’s all part of Spirit Week! Party central for Spirit Week—the place where you can keep up to date with all the goings-on—will be thebigthinK¹², our online social community.
