Way forward on the Multi sectoral approach Evidence based • Existence of a data base e.g. DHS, Sentinel surveys, BSS e.t.c this information can be used to develop the NSP Capacity • Technical support in data management and utilization; the 3 ones are supposed to make this happen i.e. MOH, NAC and statistical bureau • Political resources (Finance, human resource, government, UN family, development partners, private sector and NGOs
Way forward continued Strategic formulation • Situational analysis used by few countries while the majority used models • Use of regional expertise when developing strategic plans • Lessons learned will be used in the next strategic plan development
Who determines Sector analysis done by the NAC Criteria: Stakeholder analysis will include Geography coverage, knowledge of the epidemic, Comparative advantage, clientele, Mainstreaming – Sectors must confirm to the NSP -Terms of reference must be developed -Three ones Way forward cont’d
