Denomination:“the act of naming or designating a person or thing” (dictionary.com) Denomination:“A large group of religious congregations united under a common faith and name and organized under a single administrative and legal hierarchy”(American Heritage Dictionary) Nondenominational:“Not restricted to or associated with a religious denomination”(American Heritage Dictionary)

  3. Why are some considered cults? Cult:“A religion or religious sect generally considered to be extremist or false, with its followers often living in an unconventional manner under the guidance of an authoritarian, charismatic leader” (American Heritage Dictionary) Examples Jehovah’s Witness Seventh-day Adventist Mormon Christian Scientists Inter.
