NBT Diffutherm External Cladding at 12 Jolly Sailor Yard by Norfolk Property Maintenance 2009 Chris Rose chris@campaignstrategy.co.uk
The cladding was added to east, west and south facing walls – part flint/rubble/ pebble, part brick – the north side was done some years earlier
Blocks of diffutherm are held in place with plastic pins and steel racking
The house is noticeably warmer with walls formerly cold to touch in winter, now warm. For a case study where reduced energy (gas) use was actually measured see http://www.stroudopenhomes.org.uk/?page_id=52 This brings an old wall up to about the standard required in the UK for new build Diffutherm is available in the UK from Natural Building Technologies at http://www.stroudopenhomes.org.uk/?page_id=52 Ours was put up by Pat Weston at Norfolk Property Maintenance: pat@norfolkpropertymaintenance.co.uk http://www.norfolkpropertymaintenance.co.uk/ (accredited to NBT)
