Local roofing companies are backtracked from downed trees, strong winds, and melting snow causing a lot of structural damage. "It's where the valleys come down to the gutters and the snow melts and it freezes at night, and a block of ice can form, its called an ice dam," Harkey said. "It might take weeks for that big block of ice to melt which means you have water on top of your roof all that time."

  3. Harkey said melted snow can cause leaks. "A roof is not designed to have water on it that long, in that way, it can leak in there really easy and cause a lot of problems with the roof and structural damage underneath the roof." Harkey said depending on how bad the weather gets, it can backtrack his business days or weeks. Right now it's a matter of wait-and-see. So this is all about local roofing companies in NC area for all customers.
