DONATA Activities • Establishing IPTAs to disseminate technologies / innovations for wide spread adoption & utilisation • Providing relevant Inputs & Equipment to facilitate learning & adoption • Supporting Capacity Building & skill acquisition • Promoting sharing of lessons & success stories • Marketing of research output / services

  8. Using IPTA Strategy Multi-stakeholder forum that facilitates acquisition of knowledge and skills to adapt technologies to local settings / needs = IPTA - Innovation Platform for Technology Adoption

Establishing the IPTA cont’d • Follow value chain analysis and need mapping to determine entry point for establishment of IPTA. • It should be based on the most critical challenge or need to be addressed & the technology / innovation available to do so. • Selection of entry points a consensus among primary stakeholders

  10. IPTA Methodology IPTA is a demand-driven participatory approach and can adopt any or combination of the participatory methodologies such as • PLA – participatory learning and action; • PCP – participatory community planning; • FFS – Farmers field school; • Demonstrations; etc
