  3. Material to be Submitted to IEA DPC To be submitted by January 25, 2008 • Exported WinW3S database (*.MDB) • WinDEM data files (*.DBF) • Codebooks for each data file (*.SDB)(including all adaptations made to the structure)

Material to be Submitted to IEA DPC To be submitted by January 25, 2008 • Copy of the national ICCS achievement booklets and questionnaires (1 set per language) • National Adaptations Forms (version IV) (1 set per language) • Copies of all completed Student Tracking and Teacher Tracking Forms returned from schools (hard copies or scanned)

  5. File-Exchange using the IEA DPC WebFTP-Server • The IEA DPC has setup secure FTP sites to exchange materials between countries and the - ISC at ACER and/or - IEA Secretariat and/or - IEA DPC • Can easily be accessed using a web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer) • Each country will receive a separate login

  6. File-Exchange using the IEA DPC WebFTP-Server • Please inform the recipients via email as soon you have uploaded any materials • Further information on the IEA DPC WebFTP-Server will be provided in a separate WebFTP-Server Manual

  8. Data & Codebooks IEA DPC Country Instruments & Forms Data Processing at the IEA DPC 1. Import to SAS and adapting the file structure INPUT Country communication will continue after data send-out!

Adapting the File Structure • WinW3S database and WinDEM data files are merged and converted to SAS data files • Unique system numbers (CSYSTEM, TSYSTEM, SSYSTEM) are added • System numbers usually correspond to the position of the record in the original WinDEM data files • If a data set is missing either in WinW3S or in WinDEM, higher system numbers will be assigned
