Manyormuch? That’s the dilemma Carlo Munoz & IlyaFaynleyb
Have you ever asked yourself? • If you have to write much or many in a sentence? • Surely you have once in a while everybody does. • But its time for you to know, don’t question yourself any further nor use them randomly, as today you will obtain the wisdom to know if many or much will be in your next sentence…
contrast • Many: • If you can count it is many. • If you are to use many it should be something you CAN COUNT (DO NOT FORGET THAT) • You have to be able to use numbers to count the things you are refering of/to • Much: • If you CAN’T COUNT IT it is much. • If its impossible to use numbers to count it then make sure to use much. • There you use much.
Examples • Many: • How many dogs are there? • How many apples are there? • How many cars are there? • How many umbrellas are there? • Much: • How much sugar do we have? • How much cheese do your have there? • How much money do you have?
Why is that this way? • You can count dogs with numbers. One dog, two dogs, three dogs… • You can also count umbrellas with numbers. One umbrella, two, three… • You can’t count cheese. You can count PIECES of cheese, but not cheese itself. • You can’t count money. You can count dollars, or bills, or colones, but not money itself.
Now you should be ready to use many and much correctly Much and many
