Lesson Outline 1. Review classroom expectations (2 Mins). 2. Introduction of group members using team building/supportive activity. (Suggestions Below). (5 Min., Depending on Activity): Great resource for other ideas: FUN GAMES A. Icebreaker Questions: Each group members picks a random question from a bag and introduces themselves and answers the question. B. Fabulous Flags: Each person makes a flag that represents them on an index card. It would be great to have their flag be the cover of their file folder for the year or make quilt of all the group members. C. Never Have I Ever: Attached SSS Lesson One
Lesson Outline 3. Complete pretest, turn in to Ms. Swank (5 Mins). 4. Discuss class “quote” and have students vote on their favorite. Write on the board or project with document camera (5 Mins). A. “We = Power” B. “Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, and working together is success.” C. “The strength of a team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.” D. “If you stumble, make it part of the dance.” SSS Lesson One
Lesson Outlines • 5. Chain link activity – students write something about themselves that everyone would not know and draw other activities or interests on the paper chain. Stress that everyone is an important link to the success of each other and the 6th grade. Turn in class chain to Ms. Swank (10 Mins). • 6.
