Synonymous codon usage is highly biased in amy2, with the preferred codons shown in blue. For example, codons that encode leucine (Leu: highlighted in yellow) are not uniformly used. The CTG codon is clearly preferred over all other codons that encode leucine, and the TTA codon is never used within the amy2gene.
