    3. Fostering Connections to Success Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act Passed in October 2008 (P.L. 110-351). Requires CW organizations to plan for transition, including housing options, 90 days prior to discharge. Will provide federal reimbursement to states for a variety of housing options for youth aged 18-21.

    4. Family Unification Program In 2008, Sens. Murray and Bond directed HUD to spend $20 million on FUP (roughly 2,550 new vouchers). HUD issued $20 million in additional funding from FY09. These vouchers will be awarded this spring (2010). HUD 2010 budget includes $15 million. Many communities opt to create a FUP or expand one using regular vouchers

    5. HEARTH Act Enacted May 20, 2009 Changes HUD’s McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance programs First significant reauthorization since 1992 Current funding for 2010 is $1.891 billion Requires increase to approx. $2.4 billion in FY2011
