Over a one week period, the students will learn about the Food Pyramid and that making healthy food choices are vital for a healthy body. At the conclusion of this one week period, the students will be able to take what they have learned and address it in the real world. They will be more aware of and value the importance of eating healthy food. My lesson will involve learning about the six levels of the food pyramid and learning how to choose healthy foods. Students will learn with the help of visual aids, hands on activities, and technology by playing interactive games online and by making their own personalized menu plan online. All children, especially young ones should be able to expand their learning horizons beyond text books and written tests.
