Representative examples of MRI and FDG-PET scans in subjects with behavioral variant frontotemporal dementia presentations – a 59 year old male with a C9ORF72 mutation (A), a 66 year old male with a MAPT mutation (B), and a 62 year old male with a PGRN mutation (C). Note the dorsomedial atrophy on MRI and relatively symmetric dorsolateral frontal and temporal hypometabolism on FDG-PET in the C9ORF72 case, the relatively symmetric bilateral temporal atrophy and hypometabolism in the MAPT case, and the markedly asymmetric frontal and temporoparietal atrophy and hypometabolism in the PGRN case.
