Supporting Families, Building Communities Strategy • Success based on implementation • Entails the development of detailed action plans and the support of key stakeholders
Elements of Implementation Plan • Series of identified actions, time schedules and collaborators under seven strategies • Draft terms of reference for five working groups • Suggested allocation of resources required under specific grant sources
The Strategic Planning & Monitoring Working Group • To oversee the development of the Implementation Plan • To identify key stakeholders who will work with the FRC National Forum in the implementation of the Strategy • To facilitate regional discussions and input into Implementation Plan
Development of Working Groups Success of Strategic Plan based on the establishment of working groups with clearly defined responsibilities
Working Groups • 5 sub-committees of the Board will undertake actions identified within the Implementation Plan • All accountable to the Board and will report on a regular basis • Participation through Board and Regions • Strategic Planning & Monitoring Group will assist the Board in the establishment and effective operation of all other working groups
Liaise with consultant in the development of the Strategic Development Plan • Oversee the FRC National Forum’s Implementation Plan process • Devise systems for monitoring and tracking agreed actions • Identify Performance Indicators
Undertake training needs analysis among members regionally and nationally and draft Training Needs Report • Present Training Needs Report to SAN and explore and agree SAN involvement in regional training • Develop an annual training programme • Undertake an audit of training providers • Establish links with appropriate national training organisations • Establish a strategy around accreditation of relevant training programmes • Liaise with the Finance Working Group in the preparation of detailed training budgets
Co-ordinate the participation of anti poverty groups and agencies in national Forum meetings, seminars and conferences in promoting awareness of social policy issues • Build networks and partnerships with anti-poverty groups • Undertake audits of local development structures and participation of Forum members in such structures • Development of a Strategy around the participation of Forum members in local development structures • Promote and facilitate the Forum’s participation in NAPs
Develop relationships with members of the Community & Voluntary Pillar of Social Partnership and mechanisms for exchanging information • Promote and facilitate the Forum’s participation in the CPA ‘Having Your Say Programme’ • Liaise with the Training & Development Working group in the co-ordination of policy related training activities • Make policy submissions to relevant agencies
Develop a Financial Policy & Procedures Manual • Establish a formal structure for negotiating with FSA on appropriate budgets • Undertake a mapping exercise of external funders appropriate to the needs of the FRC National Forum • Liaise with the Forum Treasurer in the submission of appropriate and timely financial reports to the Board of the FRC National Forum, the FSA and/or other funders
Launch and disseminate strategic development plan and Information Booklet and Launch Website • Promote awareness of the Forum among local development agencies through targeted mailshots • Develop strategy to identify FRC National Forum’s ‘ public’ • Undertake a satisfaction survey among all members • Undertake performance reviews of DHR including a review of contract requirements
Cont’d. • Oversee effectiveness and usage of website and other forms of communication • Develop up-to-date and active database • Develop Induction Packs for new members and regional representatives
