Jean has been cultivating pearls for many years, and merchants come from allover the world to purchase his “black beauties” (as he callsthem). To produce 3.Pearl Farmer and Merchant

  3. Pearls ,Jean and his workers place a small piece of Shell in the oyster. The oyster overs the piece of shell with a pearly Substance known as ”nacre.” This is the source of a pearl. The quality Of a pearl depends on the environment in which the oyster lives: The temperature and quality of the water and food supply. Pearls that are smooth And have no spots or cracks sell for higher prices. Jean says that pearls are a gift of nature, and he finds his job fascinating.
